The public rooms in this 1780 stagecoach inn are enormous and each has a fireplace. Bedrooms are on the small side but have four-poster beds (some have claw-foot baths) and, like the rest of the inn, unpretentious furnishings. On weekends in July and August you can book only two-night packages, which include breakfast daily and one dinner during your stay. Pro: good food in on-site restaurant. Cons: small, rustic bathrooms; some signs of age throughout.
