This 1925 Georgian Revival mansion sits at the end of a regal circular drive, overlooking 6 acres of lush lawns and apple trees. Its owners, Len and Gloria Friedman, have attended to every detail—one room has a spacious steam shower and a fireplace; another contains a French reproduction sleigh bed and stunning views across the grounds to the mountains beyond. The lobby boasts a grand piano, a carriage house contains two plush suites with their own wet bars; complimentary
chocolates and crystal decanters filled with brandy and liqueurs add a touch of class. The Greenock Golf Course is across the road.

We stayed at Applegate last Summer and will be returning this August. Everything about the Inn is first class. The breakfast, for a B&B, is outstanding, and the hosts truly make you feel at home. It's well worth a short getaway and an ideal locale.
