The antiques decorating the parlor of this eccentric 1820s English Tudor mansion are ornate, with a touch of the exotic thanks to items gleaned from the innkeepers' world travels. The 4,000-volume library, formal parlor, music room (with a Steinway grand piano and Louis XVI original furniture), and gracious dining room all impress. Designer drapes and bedspreads adorn the guest rooms, three of which have working fireplaces. The carriage house is only open May through October; one room in it is decorated to reflect an African style, and another has a Southwestern style. The inn is nestled amid 7 acres of gardens and woods across from Kennedy Park. Pros: interesting innkeepers, lavish public areas. Cons: rooms could use updating, bathrooms are old and small.
