Set in an old cow barn at the 1896 House Inn, this dark, wood-paneled pub has loads of character—and a mounted mascot, Harold the Hereford, who doesn't seem to mind that at least half the patrons are downing burgers. Not a meat eater? Not a problem. Chef Matt Schilling's extensive menu includes several "supper salads" (including a grilled plum salad with Granny Smith apples, Gorgonzola crumbles, and glazed walnuts over mixed greens), veggie three-bean chili, and sweet-potato fries. They also sell a bazillion lobster rolls, as well they should; this toothsome roll is all lobster meat, sans fillers, on a buttery grilled roll.
