This stately, century-old pillared house in Adams was once a nursing home (the extra-wide wheelchair-friendly doors are a clue). Hometown boy Eric Harrington has transformed it into a neighborhood hangout, where the flat-screen TVs are tuned to sports and a vending machine dispenses lottery tickets. Harrington's all-you-can-eat specials draw 'em in, but pleasant surprises include mushroom caps stuffed with hot sausage and a melt-in-your-mouth veal Oscar.
