Fodor's Review

Just off the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, this is the greenest inn in the Berkshires: innkeepers Nana Simopoulous and Caryn Heilman transformed a derelict downtown building into an ecofriendly marvel, with solar panels, biofuel heating, and natural clay walls. The beds and linens are made of organic cotton, all-natural toiletries stock the bathrooms, and rooms are decorated in themes ranging from Ancient Greece to Iroquois. A fun quirk: some rooms have spa tubs with colored lights (chromatherapy, it's called), so you can enjoy a little light show as you bathe.
