Salisbury

Barges still ply the slow-moving Wicomico River between the Bay and Salisbury, the Eastern Shore's second-largest port after Baltimore. This urban center is a hub of commercial activity in the region and the home of Salisbury University, but its leisure options pale compared to the excitement of nearby Ocean City. The tree-shaded waterfront draws bikers and shoppers. Antiques shops and galleries, along with some exemplary Victorian architecture, fill its downtown six blocks.
