Clara Barton National Historic Site

Clara Barton National Historic Site Review

Beside Glen Echo Park's parking lot is the Clara Barton National Historic Site, a monument to the founder of the American Red Cross. The structure was built for her by the founders of Glen Echo, and she first used it to store Red Cross supplies; later it became both her home and the organization's headquarters. Today the building is furnished with period artifacts and many of her possessions. Access is by a 45-minute guided tour only.
