Café Hon

Café Hon Review

This funky eatery, specializing in comfort food and kitsch, is the centerpiece of Hamden's main drag of restaurants and shops, called The Avenue. Entrées like meatloaf, crabcake sandwiches, and thick hamburgers all served with thick hand-cut french fries, are nothing fancy, but solid and filling. Equally as enticing are the giant Elvis statue and the gift shop with cat's-eye "Hon" glasses. In case you get lost, you can always spot this place by the giant pink flamingo out front (an ode to hometown hero John Waters, director of Pink Flamingos).
