Fodor's Review

Light-filled and modern, this little museum occupies a historic building that once held supplies for the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, and is a good place to learn about the people and events that shaped the history of Annapolis and its creation as the state's capitol. The current exhibit, "Freedom Bound: Runaways of the Chesapeake," which runs through 2015, tells the stories of individuals who resisted servitude during the 1760s–1860s. Portions of the

exhibit, including artifacts and displays, video, and hands-on activities, also are on display at the Historic Annapolis Waterfront Warehouse at 4 Pinkney St., which was used in the early 19th century to store tobacco before it was shipped to England. The Museum Store sells history books, ceramics, crafts made by local artisans, and nautical knickknacks.
