Nights are cool, so be sure to bring a light jacket. Fog is likely this time of year—and more common than in the south—so come prepared to appreciate its haunting beauty. Many establishments are open from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day. Winter-sports outfitters are rare, but folks trickle in for winter getaways—the scenery never disappoints.
