This handsome seaside property has been in the hands of the Severance family since 1667. The modern hotel units, all with sliding-glass doors that open onto private decks or patios (half with ocean views), are appropriate for families; so are the cottages with one to four bedrooms. You can't get much closer to Gooch's Beach. The inn supplies beach chairs; take a dip in the outdoor shower to wash off the salt and the sand.
