Not far from Old Orchard Beach is the Maine Audubon-run Scarborough Marsh Nature Center. You can rent a canoe and explore this natural haven on your own or sign up for a guided trip. The salt marsh is Maine's largest and is an excellent place for bird-watching and peaceful paddling along its winding ways. The Nature Center has a discovery room for kids, programs for all ages ranging from basket making to astronomy, birding and canoe tours, and a good gift shop. Pine Point Rd.
