Thomaston Cafe Review
This is a great place to stop on the long, slow drive up U.S. 1. Works by local artists adorn the walls of this small downtown café, which uses local ingredients as much as possible. It serves an excellent breakfast, including homemade corned beef hash. For lunch there's scrumptious haddock chowder and delicious sandwiches. Try the panfried haddock sandwich lightly breaded with panko bread crumbs, or a salad and crab cakes (sold at breakfast, too). Entrées include lobster ravioli and filet mignon with béarnaise sauce. Sunday brunch is popular.
