Cook's Lobster House

Cook's Lobster House Review

What began as a lobster shack on Bailey's Island in 1955 has grown into a huge, internationally famous family-style restaurant with a small gift shop. The restaurant still catches its own fish and seafood, so you can count on the lobster casserole and the haddock sandwich to be delectable. Along with fame come prices; the shore dinners are $40-plus, and the most expensive include a 1¼-pound baked stuffed lobster with a choice of steamed mussels or clams or fried shrimp or clams, a choice of sides, and a bowl of fish chowder or lobster stew. But there's lots of less pricey fare, and a basic 1-pound lobster dinner is $20. Whether you choose inside or deck seating, you can watch the activity on the water as men check lobster pots and kayakers fan across the bay.
