By Bus in Portland

Greater Portland's Metro runs seven bus routes in Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook. The fare is $1.25; exact change is required. Buses run from 5:30 AM to 11:45 PM.

The Portland Explorer has express shuttle service to the Old Port from the Portland Jetport, the Portland Transportation Center, and other downtown locations. The shuttle runs hourly, seven days a week, from noon to 7 PM. Fare is $2.

Long-distance bus travel is available within Maine plus neighboring states. Concord Trailways offers service to Boston's Logan Airport, Boston, and points within coastal Maine. Vermont Transit Company services towns throughout Maine and northern New England. Portland's Transportation Center is close to downtown and the airport.
