The craggy fingers of land that dominate this part of the coast are fun for experienced cyclists to explore, but the lack of shoulders on most roads combined with heavy tourist traffic can be intimidating. Two good resources are the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and the Maine Department of Transportation, which provide information on trails and bike shops around the state.
