Fodor's Review:

The 243-acre Crescent Beach State Park, about 8 mi south of Portland, has a sandy beach, picnic tables, a seasonal snack bar, and a bathhouse. Miles of nature trails head into the woods beyond the beach, ideal for bird-watching and for families with young children.

  • Cost: $4.50
  • Open: Memorial Day-Columbus Day, daily 9AM-sunset.
