Every unit in this all-suites inn includes a kitchen and a view of the Atlantic. It's a short walk down a private boardwalk to sandy Crescent Beach, a popular family spot. Dogs are welcomed with a room-service pet menu, evening turndown treats, and oversize beach towels. The Audubon dining room ($$$-$$$$), open to nonguests, serves fine seafood and regional dishes. The shingle-style design, typical of turn-of-the-20th-century New England shorefront cottages and hotels, includes a varied roofline punctuated by turretlike features and gables, balconies, a covered porch supported by columns, an open deck, and large windows. Pros: On Crescent Beach and a short drive to Two Lights, Portland Head, and Portland. Con: A bit large to be considered charming.
