Although the Southern Coast makes up just a mere portion of Maine's many thousands of miles of shoreline, it offers an incredible variation of sights to discover. The best way to explore the region is by car—taking the time to sidetrack on inviting byways. Summer traffic may be demanding and an inconvenience, but the beauty and diversity of Maine is worth a little patience.
