Once the summer mission of St. Martha's Church in Kennebunkport, this stunning, exquisite inn has retained many of the original details from its former life as a seaside church. The cathedral ceilings and stained-glass windows remain, all gathering and spreading the grand surrounding light. The guest rooms are spacious, some with serene marsh views. Four common areas, including one with a fireplace, are perfect spots for afternoon refreshments. The inn is one block from the beach. Pros: Unusual structure with elegant appointments, nightly happy hour, walk to beach. Cons: Some rooms upstairs, not an in-town location.

Haven By The Sea is quite a find! We found them by chance as we were driving by the water's edge. The building was an old church and is absolutely beautiful with big rooms and common areas.. The Innkeepers were wonderful as was breakfast and Happy Hour.
