Brick Store Museum

Fodor's Review:

The cornerstone of the Brick Store Museum, a block-long preservation of early-19th-century commercial buildings, is William Lord's Brick Store. Built as a dry-goods store in 1825 in the Federal style, the building has an open-work balustrade across the roof line, granite lintels over the windows, and paired chimneys. Exhibits chronicle Kennebunk's relationship with the sea. The museum leads architectural walking tours of Kennebunk's historic Summer Street on Wednesday and Friday, from mid-June through late August.

  • Cost: Donations accepted; walking tours $5
  • Open: Tues.-Fri. 10-4:30, Sat. 10-1
