Facing U.S. 1 in one direction and Penobscot Bay in the other, the Harbor Inn is the second-largest accommodation in the area. Half of the rooms have beautiful views of the sea across the spacious lawn; the other half overlook the pool. The upstairs rooms have private balconies; the lower ones have patios. There is also a nice bridal suite with a king-size bed. The rooms have been remodeled, and the complimentary Continental breakfast is more generous than most, with a lot of fresh fruit and homemade pastries. A good place for dinner is Foxy's Steakhouse, right next door. One room is handicapped accessible, and five rooms are available for smokers. Small dogs are welcome but cats aren't. Pros: Abundant, complimentary breakfast; Foxy's is next door, so you can walk to dinner. Con: You have to drive for downtown shopping.
