This family-run inn is nestled in a quiet rural setting, surrounded by huge oak trees and spacious lawns and gardens. The rooms, many of which are rustic in nature with knotty-pine paneling, are all on the ground level (however they are not considered handicapped accessible). Adorning each room is an old-fashioned Maine quilt. (A big cottage industry in the state, Maine quilts are all hand-stitched.) The proprietors, Charlie and Ann Emerson, live on the property. Pro: All rooms are on the ground floor, so there are no stairs to climb. Also, you can park right in front of your room. Con: You need to drive to dinner or shopping.
