You can see this beautifully restored Victorian inn from the water. It is the last of the turn-of-the-20th-century hotels that once welcomed guests in the Boothbays. The gabled roof and beautiful gardens give this hillside lodging a distinctive look. The guest rooms tucked underneath the eves have the most charm, though not ideal for tall people. All rooms have period furnishings, including four-poster beds. Some have fireplaces, and all but one have views of the islands scattered around Linekin Bay, so bring your kayaks and access the water directly off this property. The broad veranda overlooking the bay has plenty of comfy chairs from which you can enjoy the view along with your breakfast or afternoon tea and cookies. Pros: Water access, quiet. Con: Low ceilings.
