On Georgetown Island, Reid State Park has 1½ mi of sand split between two beaches. From the top of rocky Griffith Head, you can spot the lighthouses on Seguin Island, the Cuckolds, and Hendricks Head. In summer, parking lots fill by 11 AM on weekends and holidays. If swimming, be aware of the possibility of an undertow. During a storm, this is a great place to observe the ferocity of the waves crashing onto the shore.
