Lobsters are the main draw—there are even lobster rolls on the menu at many McDonald's locations. You'll find some of the freshest crustaceans at the local lobster pounds, which are saltwater pools where you can decide which lobster to have for dinner. The area is also famous for its haddock sandwiches, homemade chowders, crab cakes, lobster bisque, and fried clams. Of course, steak and prime rib are here too. The amount of food may be daunting to light eaters, but many restaurants also offer smaller portions. There is always a downright delicious chocolate item on the dessert menu, and Green Mountain Coffee is a local favorite. Breakfast anywhere usually features blueberry muffins. More »
