Bagaduce Lunch Review

Winner of a 2008 James Beard Award, this tidy fried-fish specialist next to the reversing falls on the Bagaduce River, about 10 mi west of Blue Hill, is the perfect place for an outdoor lunch (no indoor seating). Picnic tables dot this nub of land with water on three sides, and there's a pier to tie up your kayak or boat, or to walk out on to enjoy the lovely view. Clam, shrimp, haddock, or scallop baskets come with onion rings or chips; there are also hot dogs, burgers, and fried chicken fingers. Seals, bald eagles, and ospreys provide natural entertainment in this rich tidal estuary. At low tide kids explore along the shore.
