Acadia National Park

Fodor's Review:

Half of Isle au Haut is part of beautiful Acadia National Park. More than 18 mi of trails wind through quiet spruce woods, along beaches and seaside cliffs, and over the spine of the central mountain ridge. The park's small campground, with five lean-tos, is open from mid-May to mid-October and fills up quickly. Reservations are essential. You can access Acadia from the Town Landing. If you turn right when you arrive at the dock, the ranger station is a short walk or bike ride away. Public rest rooms are here, as is the trailhead for the Duck Harbor Trail.
