You won't find grand hotels on the Blue Hill Peninsula. Instead, the countryside is dotted with inns, bed-and-breakfasts, and small but distinguished hotels. Be prepared to find that your room lacks a TV or even a phone. Without these amenities, you can more easily slip away from your day-to-day life. Many accommodations also do without air-conditioning. Although occasional summer days in August can still get quite warm, ocean breezes will cool your room off at night, providing what locals call "free air-conditioning."
