Blue Hill

Blue Hill

Snuggled between 943-foot Blue Hill Mountain and Blue Hill Bay, the village of Blue Hill is perched dramatically over the harbor. Originally known for its granite quarries, copper mines, and shipbuilding, today the town charms with its pottery, and a plethora of galleries, shops, and studios line its streets. Blue Hill is also a good spot for shopping, as there are numerous bookstores and antiques shops. The Blue Hill Fair (www.bluehillfair.com), held Labor Day weekend, is a tradition in these parts, with agricultural exhibits, food, rides, and entertainment.
