By Bike in Acadia National Park

Although Acadia National Park is a bicycle-friendly area, traveling along the island's major thoroughfares can be challenging. Bike lanes are narrow or nonexistent on many stretches of road, leaving bikers the choice of biking in roadside gravel, which can be soft when wet, or sharing the road with vehicle traffic. In summer, when traffic is heavy and many drivers are distracted by the scenery, it's a good idea to avoid the main roads.
