Bar Harbor Inn & Spa

Fodor's Review:

Originally established in the late 1800s as a men's social club, this waterfront inn has rooms spread out over three buildings on well-landscaped grounds. Most rooms have gas fireplaces and balconies with great views. Rooms in the Oceanfront Lodge have private decks overlooking the ocean. Many rooms in the main inn have balconies overlooking the harbor. Should you need more room, there are also some two-level suites. A relatively new addition to the inn is a luxury spa, which offers everything from massages and mud wraps to aroma therapy and facials. The inn is a short walk from town, so you're close to all the sights, and a terrific restaurant, the Reading Room, is on-site. Pros: This is one of those resort hotels that truly seems to meet every need, plus it's right at the harbor. Con: Not as close to Acadia National Park as some other Bar Harbor properties, though still just a short drive.
