Hulls Cove Visitor Center

Hulls Cove Visitor Center Review

At the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia National Park northwest of downtown Bar Harbor, the Hulls Cove Visitor Center, operated by the National Park Service, is a great spot to get your bearings. A large relief map of Mount Desert Island gives you the lay of the land, and you can watch a free 15-minute video about everything the park has to offer. Pick up guidebooks, maps of hiking trails and carriage roads, schedules for ranger-led tours, and recordings for drive-it-yourself tours. Don't forget the Acadia Beaver Log, the park's free newspaper detailing guided hikes and other ranger-led events. Junior-ranger programs for kids, nature hikes, photography walks, tide-pool explorations, and evening talks are all popular. The visitor center is just off Route 3.

The Acadia National Park Headquarters is just off Route 233 in the park not far from the north end of Eagle Lake and serves as the park's visitor center during the off-season.
