Maine State Ferry Service. From Bass Harbor the Maine State Ferry Service operates a ferry, the Captain Henry Lee, carrying both passengers and vehicles to Swans Island (40 minutes, round-trip $17.50 per person and $49 per car with driver) and Frenchboro (50 minutes, round-trip $11.25 per person and $32.25 per car with driver). The Frenchboro ferry doesn't run daily; there's also a passenger-only trip on a smaller boat (same price) from April through November.
