This 30,000-square-foot museum, scheduled to open in 2014 on the up-and-coming O.C. Haley Boulevard, is designed to educate visitors on a variety of subjects surrounding two favorite Southern pastimes: eating and drinking. Exhibits will feature information on fishermen, farmers, and chefs as well as the many cultures that contribute to this region's tradition of cocktails and cuisine. Complete with a food gift shop and a tasting room with chef demonstrations, the museum
also will house a restaurant called Purloo; call ahead for updates.
