Fodor's Review

One of the most idiosyncratic and genuinely charming hotels in the city delivers a bit of attitude along with its eclectic selection of rooms of all shapes and sizes, from postage stamp to spacious, all comfortable and done up in an mix of modern and antiques. You won't find a check-in desk here: instead, you're greeted by Scarlet the macaw and given a drink as you're welcomed into an art-filled, salon-like space. A stay in the slightly curved building, a former YMCA,

means you don't have to leave to experience a party: the cocktail bar hosts live burlesque performances and international music, and the excellent restaurant, Tivoli & Lee, serves modern Southern food in an outdoor courtyard.
