Garlands Guest House & Creole Cottages
At a Glance
- not widely known, even among frequent New Orleans visitors
- quaint, intimate surroundings
Pros
- a bit pricey and, while improving, the neighborhood is not the best place to walk around after dark
Cons
Garlands Guest House & Creole Cottages Review
These charming guesthouses were once a part of the historic Tremé plantation, and are located within walking distance of the French Quarter (although walking here alone at night is not recommended). Freestanding Creole cottages and elegant suites are decorated with antiques and reproductions, and the gardens are meticulously maintained. The daily breakfast is exquisite, featuring local favorites like stuffed French toast and homemade biscuits with Southern gravy. The property has a secure, secluded feel; it's a quiet alternative to the French Quarter.
