Remoulade Review

Operated by the owners of the posh Arnaud's, Remoulade is more laid-back and less pricey but serves the same Caesar salad and pecan pie, as well as a few of the signature starters: shrimp Arnaud in rémoulade sauce, baked oysters, turtle soup, and shrimp bisque. The marble-counter oyster bar and mahogany cocktail bar date from the 1870s; a dozen oysters shucked here, paired with a cold beer, can easily turn into two dozen, maybe three. Tile floors, mirrors, a pressed-tin ceiling, and brass lights create an old-time New Orleans environment. It's open daily until 11 pm.

    From bad to worse

Tried this place out since it is connected to Arnaud's, which has good reviews. I liked my red beans, but my wife did not like her taste of the bayou (file gumbo, crawfish pie, jambalaya). Metal plates and bowls steal the heat, so if you don't eat in 20 seconds flat, food will be cold. Wife said her seafood dishes had no seafood. Chairs were rickety, glad I'm not overweight or would've been an accident. Fans make the place comfortable but cool down the food even more (and with metal plates, bad combo). Do yourself a favor and pass this one by.
