A great location—within walking distance of the action but removed enough to make this a secluded respite—comes with a lot of charm. Stylish rooms are spread among a main building and an 1834 residence where exposed brick and cypress beams add even more atmosphere. The hotel bar, May Baily's Place, was once a bordello. Some rooms have Jacuzzi tubs and marble baths. The Dauphine also manages the Audubon Cottages a block away.
