In the far reaches of Bywater, Bacchanal is part wine shop, part bar, part music club—and one hundred percent neighborhood hangout. Among the wine racks in the old New Orleans building are two big round tables, as well as seating in the courtyard and a new bar upstairs. You can have a bottle uncorked on the premises or order by the glass. A well-run kitchen will keep you fed. High-end Scotches, bourbons, and rums are also on the menu. Local bands play seven nights a week.
