Fodor's Review:

Blaine Kern has for many years been the best-known artist and creator of Mardi Gras floats; he often personally conducts tours through this one-of-a-kind facility. You can watch the artists and builders at work, view a film about Mardi Gras, and buy Carnival memorabilia in the gift shop. A photo of you with one of the giant figures used on the floats makes a terrific souvenir, and there's a chest full of costumes for children to try on. A free shuttle van takes you from the ferry to Mardi Gras World; otherwise, an enjoyable 10-minute walk along the levee gets you here.
