Probably the most photographed building in the Quarter after St. Louis Cathedral, this atmospheric piano bar in an 18th-century cottage recently underwent renovations that critics say left the exterior, with its coyly artificial "crumbling" plaster, reeking of Disneyland-style architectural kitsch. The rustic and candle-lit interior is as appealing as ever, though, and the small outdoor patio has banana trees and a sculpture by the late Enrique Alferez, whose work decorates City Park.
