Adding a touch of class to its Bourbon Street environs, this French Quarter favorite is soothing from the moment you step into the marbled lobby, where lush plants enhance a cool, serene atmosphere. Guest rooms are restful, and furnished with reproduction antiques; many have French doors that open to balconies or patios. Those facing Bourbon Street can be noisy, but most are sufficiently soundproof. The Desire Oyster Bar, on the lobby level, faces Bourbon Street and serves local seafood delicacies; LeBooze Lounge offers a front-row seat to Bourbon Street; and Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse delivers top-shelf live music nightly. New restaurant R'evolution is already becoming a destination eatery.

My husband and I are frequent travels to NOLA. Have stayed at a few hotels but the Royal Sonesta has been the best. It is in the center of all the action on Bourbon St yet not too loud. The bar/lounge downstairs offers a Burlesque show on Friday nights which is great. They also have a great little cafe for a quick bite or you can just cross the street to Cafe Beignet which has great food and great music. The Sonesta is also very pretty, clean and
good size rooms. We will defininetly be returning.

I have stayed at the Royal Sonesta twice and look forward to my next visit. The staff is amazing, the rooms comfortable and the food is great (love Begue's). You couldn't ask for a better location.
