Hosting global greats like Mae West and Richard Nixon since its 1919 opening, Hotel Fort Des Moines remains a classy hotel today. Marble floors and walnut woodwork original to the structure earned the hotel a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. All rooms and suites feature free Wi-Fi, and the spacious suites include a sofa, mini fridge, and microwave. With a tagline of "all French, no attitude," the casual French brasserie–style Django Restaurant is located adjacent to the hotel as a partnering business, as is Raccoon River Brewing Co.
