The Boarding House

The Boarding House Review

If the stunning 4,000 wine bottle installation on the ceiling of the dining room isn't a dead giveaway, this Old Town newcomer belongs to Master Sommelier and former Check, Please! host Alpana Singh. Wine is obviously a big deal here; a 30-page catalog presents varietals from around the globe. Start in the first-floor wine bar, snacking on artisanal pizzas, charcuterie boards, and oysters on the half shell, before heading to the second-floor dining room to feast on a sumptuous menu of hazelnut-crusted short rib with five-spice sweet potato; Maine lobster poutine; and Strauss veal chop with citrus-braised endive, foie gras sauce, and watercress.
