A rib and blues emporium, in the gentrified though still funky Wicker Park, Smoke Daddy serves up tangy barbecued ribs with generously supplied napkins for swabbing stray sauce. Today fans pack bar stools and booths for the chow, which includes richly flavored smoked pulled pork and homemade fries, as well as for the no-cover R&B and jazz bands that play nightly after 9:30. A short walk from the Division Street El stop makes this barbecue spot an ideal point from which to explore the neighborhood's hipster scene.
