Fodor's Review:

Nightclub meets steak house in N9NE, replete with mirrored columns, futuristic plasma-TV screens, and a dramatic, circular champagne-and-caviar bar set smack in the middle of the dining room. Scenesters and business folk find common ground in the menu: prime steaks and chops complemented by fresh fish and shellfish. If you crave caviar choose from beluga and sevruga by the ounce or cute crispy cones layered with caviar and egg salad. On weekends, dress to thrill—most of the trendy patrons do.

I had a fabulous experience at Nine about five years ago and decided to try it again on this trip. I'm happy to say it is still one of the best restaurants in the country. Although the restaurant has a somewhat pretentious feel atmosphere is modern, bright and colorful as opposed to the typical dark and stodgy steak house. The staff is anything but pretentious, however and Joe, our server, was excellent. My filet was done perfectly and had amazing flavor and the ahi tuna tartar with crispy deep fried tortilla chips was fabulous. The wine list is good with excellent selections from around the world but the restaurant was out of two of our Washington wine choices. Overall the experience was terrific. So good, in fact, I'm considering going again tonight. We'll definitely ask for Joe again. Cheers!
