Ford Center for the Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre Review

Ford Center for the Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre opened in 1926 as a movie palace with grand, over-the-top Far Eastern decor (think Buddha statues and huge mosaics of an Indian prince and princess). After a period of disrepair, it reopened in 1998 to stage big-name Broadway hits—for several years it served as the Chicago home for Wicked.
