Fulton Market Review
The stylish Fulton Market district runs along Fulton Market and Lake Street between Des Plaines Street and Ashland Avenue. What was once filled with a skid row and meatpacking warehouses is now a neighborhood of chic restaurants, trendsetting galleries, shops, and showrooms for cutting-edge design and green living. Be aware, though, that the area remains a bustling commercial district. During the day the seafood, produce, and meatpacking plants swarm with heavy vehicles helmed by harried drivers. Exercise caution while driving or, better yet, take a cab here.
